| DESCRIPTION
I was born in Cooma, N.S.W. Australia, in 1953. My father was the official artist for the Snowy Mountains Authority and encouraged my two brothers and I to draw and paint from an early age.We had a 2000 acre cattle property in the mountains where we learnt to love and respect the Australian bush. Some of my fondest memories as a kid come from time spent in the mountains, rounding up cattle in the snow,tracking kangeroos and wombats and simply exploring the bush. After leaving school I attended the National Art School in Newcastle. It was a great place in the early 70’s. More of our drawing lessons were held in the back bar of the Star Hotel than at the art school. |

Joanne Hook original paintings in acrylics and gouache on handmade linen paper are in great demand. She had a number of sell out exhibitions and soon realised she could not keep up with demand. This prompted her to produce high quality limited edition prints, which made it more accessible to collectors of her art. Through the ensuing years Jo Anne's work has won numerous prizes and awards. She has received commissions from various international hotels, Australian Airlines, and international companies, such as IBM Japan.She now lives and works on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, with her partner and two children. She travels to Japan at least once each year on exhibition tours, and is planning future forays into Europe and the USA. |

The Artist Simon Mclean lives and works from Broadbeach on the Gold Coast of Queensland about an hour South from the State capitol Brisbane. He has received numerous prizes and awards for his original Artworks and Illustration. His works are represented in private collections throughout Australia and Overseas.
For twenty years Mclean produced Illustration and Art for a myriad of Advertising and Publishing companies in Australia and internationally. Mcleans work has illustrated successful childrens book ranges and is known for massively detailed full colour cartoon poster works. His Charcoal works on paper and canvas attained recognition through sellout shows in 2002 and 2003 and continue to receive critical acclaim for originality in style and theme and have been described as anything from brilliantly dark and moody to Hilariously disturbing. |
